Annual Meeting of Public Utility Companies from the Ekopak System Held in Konjic
Representatives of public utility companies participating in the Ekopak system gathered in Konjic for their regular annual meeting dedicated to reviewing achieved results, exchanging experiences, and planning activities for the upcoming period. The meeting was hosted by JKP Standard Konjic and Ekopak.
The working session brought together directors, department managers, and representatives of almost all public utility companies included in the Ekopak system. Particular attention was given to the results achieved in 2025, the challenges utility companies face in their daily operations, and plans for the current year.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to legislation, limited financial and operational capacities, as well as the need to develop public awareness of the importance of separating packaging waste at the source. Participants exchanged experiences from their local communities, presented examples of good practice, and discussed practical solutions that could contribute to the development of the packaging waste collection and recycling system.
In addition to representatives of public utility companies, presentations were delivered by representatives of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the “Via delle Cascate – Waterfall Routes” project, and the companies Gradatin and SCE Technology, which introduced new technological solutions and opportunities for the development of the public utility sector.
Ekopak Director Amela Hrbat emphasized the importance of regular meetings among all partners involved in the system:
"Such meetings are extremely important because they enable an open exchange of experiences, the identification of challenges, and the joint development of solutions for advancing the packaging waste recycling system. I would like to thank JKP Standard Konjic for its excellent organization and long-standing cooperation, as well as all representatives of public utility companies whose daily work makes a vital contribution to the development of the system," said Hrbat.
The discussion resulted in the definition of concrete steps for the coming period, and the meeting once again confirmed the importance of cooperation between the system operator, public utility companies, and other partners in the development of an efficient packaging waste recycling system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
