Ekopak, Zeos and the Chamber of Commerce of Federation BiH Organize a Study Visit to Slovenia: How European Practices Can Advance the Recycling System
Ekopak, together with the operator Zeos Eco-System, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, with the support of Zeos Slovenia, organized a professional study visit to Slovenia for representatives of 15 public utility companies from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the visit to Ljubljana, Slovenj Gradec, Kope, and Celje, participants had the opportunity to learn about the operations of public utility companies and waste management systems in European Union countries, with a particular focus on the collection of packaging waste and electrical and electronic waste (WEEE). The programme included visits to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS), Vodovod Slovenj Gradec, the KOCEROD Regional Waste Management Centre, the Hisense Gorenje factory in Velenje, and Simbio Celje – Energetika Toplarna.
Discussions focused on the challenges of packaging and WEEE waste management, the development of selective collection systems, the role of public utility companies in system operations, as well as European best practices that could be applied in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
