This year, the Sarajevo Film Festival was once again an opportunity not only to present a top-class film program but also to emphasize the importance of a responsible attitude towards the environment.

During the festival, a total of 107 tons of waste was collected, confirming that large events can be organized in a sustainable way.

Ekopak – Partner in the Recycling System

As in previous years, Ekopak was a key partner of Coca-Cola in waste collection and recycling activities. Coca-Cola placed its recognizable containers at festival venues, while Ekopak and its partner KJKP Rad Sarajevo ensured the regular collection of waste, making sure that Sarajevo shone in its best light during the stay of numerous guests and visitors.

Packaging Waste for Recycling

A significant portion of the total of 107 ton of waste collected consisted of packaging waste. KJKP Rad Sarajevo will prepare it for recycling, while Ekopak will ensure that it is transported to recycling facilities, so that instead of ending up at the Smiljevići landfill, it enters the recycling process where it will gain a new value.
