In the period of 15-19 October 2012, within project „Aid for Trade“ of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ekopak employees attended educational training in the Czech system operator, Ekokom.

The study trip in Prague was implemented through a five-day program that included introduction to all departments of Ekokom, presentations of successful ten-year experience of the Czech Republic in packaging waste management, introduction to good experience and practices of the leading system operator in Europe, as well as visit to semi-automatic paper sorting facility and recycling yard of one of the biggest Czech communal companies- Pražské služby.

Ekopak employees also had the opportunity to visit Agricultural Museum of Prague. In September 2012 Ekokom organized permanent exibition on history of packaging and packaging waste that provides interactive way of understanding the packaging development, its function, design and transport. The exibition is daily visited by more than 100 pupils that, through organized school programs, come to Prague from different cities of the Czech Republic.

This is the second study trip to Prague. The first visit was organized in October 2011, when the two entity ministers, Mrs. Srebrenka Golić, Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology of RS and Mrs. Branka Đurić, Federal Minister of Tourism and Environment, along with their ministry associates and Project Manager of Ekopak, Mrs. Amela Hrbat, visited Ekokom. This visit, other than with adoption of new knowledge and experience in packaging waste management, resulted with adoption of the new legislative on the Federation level that is based precisely on the good experience of the Czech Republic.
