Ekopak, as a partner of Save the Children in North West Balkans, participated last week in the implementation of training for the teaching staff of six primary and two secondary schools on the topic "Integrating the topics of adaptation to climate change into curricular and extracurricular activities for children in educational institutions".

This introductory training was held as part of the project "Schools as green zones - increasing readiness for climate change in the education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, phase 2".

This training includes teaching staff from eight targeted schools -  Elementary School "Porodice ef. Ramić Semizovac, Elementary School "Srednje" from Ilijaš, Elementary School "Umihana Čuvidina" Sarajevo,  Elementary School "Hasan Kaimija" Sarajevo, Elementary School "Osman Nuri Hadžić" Dobrinja, First Elementary School Ilidža, Secondary School for the Environment and wood design Sarajevo and Bjelave High School of Medicine had the opportunity to learn something new on topics such as climate change, waste management, recycling, waste reduction, life cycle of materials and air pollution. The teachers will transfer the acquired knowledge from the mentioned areas to the students of their schools through special workshops adapted to their age.
