The Public Utility Company (PUC) Standard Konjic has acquired a special vehicle for the transport of packaging waste, financed by Ekopak.

The vehicle will primarily be used for emptying glass collection containers (so-called bells), which were provided as part of the project "Collection of Glass Packaging Waste in the Western Balkans", co-financed by GIZ and Ekopak. As part of this project, PUC Standard Konjic has been provided with 37 glass collection containers.

This vehicle will also be used for the transport of other types of packaging waste, which is particularly important given that the works on opening the first recycling yard in the City of Konjic are nearing completion. Ekopak is also participating in the implementation of this project. This will make the packaging waste collection system in Konjic more efficient and functional.

Ekopak and PUC Standard Konjic have been cooperating since 2020. During this period, significant amounts of packaging waste were separated from municipal waste and directed for recycling through the Ekopak system. However, the growth potential remains significantly higher, which is why Ekopak continues to invest funds and efforts in the development of municipal infrastructure in this local community.
