In cooperation with Mercator BH and NGO of altruists „Svjetlo“ on Saturday, November 24 2012, in Mercator center Sarajevo, Ekopak participated in marking of European Week of Waste Reduction- EWWR 2012.

By delivering promotional materials that included practical advice on reducing waste in households, as well as basic information about recycling and reuse of packaging, Ekopak started with implementation of activities of citizens' education on the importance of change in customer habits, that is an integral part of activities of system establishment in every country. In addition to that, Ekopak promoted its new audio jingle.

Artistic installation „Man Suffocating in Waste“ presented troublesome situation with which we affront daily in different aspects of our lives. The youngest ones had the opportunity to „save“ the man from suffocating in an interactive way by liberating him from waste in which he found himself in. Simulating selective waste disposal, visitors of Mercator centre demonstrated readiness for change in packaging waste management.

Ekopak also donated 100 biodegreadeable bags to NGO „Svjetlo“ with the intention to support funding of their activities, while hardworking hands of „Art Line“ workshop participants embellished the bags with their creativity and imagination. Income from sales of the bags was intended for one of socially endangered families, member of NGO „Svjetlo“. In this way Ekopak proved not only to gather socially responsible companies, but also to implement socially responsible activities.

Ekopak wishes to use this opportunity to thank all visitors of Mercator center for their willingness to make a step forward in raising awareness in the field of packaging waste management, as well as for their participation in artistic performance.
