Ekopak supported the action to arrange and cleanup the Kamberovića Polje organized by the Citizen Association Zenica before the traditional Zenica event, „Čimburijada“.

Traditionally, just like every year, „Zenica Čimburijada“ will be held on the first day of Spring, March 21st and regarding that, the youngest Zenica citizens will arrange the Kamberovića Polje by cleaning it up from the packaging waste and by planting roses and other flowers.

Ekopak, as a friend of the action, together with the Zenica Citizen Association, provided the action with waste disposal bags and bins, sanitary gloves, T-shirts and meals for all participants.

Cooperation between Zenica Citizen Association and Ekopak was also marked through „Tvrle the Ecologist“ project, which had the main objective to educate children about the importance of proper packaging waste disposal and recycling. Ekopak activities in Zenica will continue in the future, both through the arrangement of the Kamberovića Polje and through many other activities aiming at raising awareness about the importance of the separate packaging waste disposal and recycling and therefore get BiH closer to the rest of the EU when it comes to the packaging waste management.

With the promotional activities and by supporting cleanup actions, Ekopak wants to draw attention of the irresponsible individuals that the environment in which they throw their waste belongs to them as well and that we must not make a distinction between the irresponsible people, who throw their waste all over the place, and the responsible ones, who cleanup their environment in actions like this one. Responsible attitude towards waste needs to become a part of the culture of living of every citizen of our country and then, these actions won't be necessary any more since the waste will be disposed on the right place and notable amount will be directed to the processes of recycling and recovery.

In the action, six students from each eco-club of the primary and secondary schools, Zenica scouts and young members from partner NGOs.
