Educational Workshop for High School Students at Muhsin Rizvić High School in Kakanj
Kakanj, 6 November 2026 – As part of Ekopak’s cooperation with the Ren Natur organisation and the Municipality of Kakanj, an educational workshop was held at Muhsin Rizvić High School in Kakanj for more than 40 members of the school’s environmental club, focusing on packaging waste, its separation and recycling.
Representatives of the Municipality of Kakanj also attended the workshop, whose content was adapted to the age of the students. During the theoretical part, students learned how the packaging waste collection and recycling system operates, the roles of different stakeholders within the system, and the importance of separating packaging waste from municipal waste.
The theoretical part was followed by an interactive session. Through the “Recycling Vocabulary” game, students tested their knowledge of key terms related to packaging waste and recycling, before putting what they had learned into practice in the “Quick Sorting” game.
The most successful team received special prizes, while all members of the environmental club who participated in the workshop also received gifts from Ekopak.
The workshop was Ekopak’s contribution to the activities of the Ren Natur organisation and its founder, Rolf Larsen, who contribute to preserving a clean environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the organisation of various initiatives and activities.
Following the workshop, members of the Muhsin Rizvić High School environmental club also took part in a tree-planting initiative at Mušanovića Brdo, organised under the patronage of the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
For Ekopak, educating young people is an important part of system development, as understanding the journey of packaging waste from separation and collection to recycling helps young people develop knowledge and habits they can apply in their everyday lives.
