During the fourth season of the project “Recycle Me. Give Me a New Life.”, nearly 250,000 PET bottles were collected, while citizens received BAM 24,936 in rewards.

The fourth season of Coca-Cola’s project “Recycle Me. Give Me a New Life.”, implemented in cooperation with Konzum, Pika Card, and the CETAP project, has been successfully completed. The record result of almost a quarter of a million PET bottles collected confirms that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina recognize the importance of proper packaging waste disposal and the adoption of sustainable everyday habits.

During the six-week project period, from June 13 to July 18, 2026, citizens collected a total of 249,367 PET bottles at seven locations in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica, and Mostar, while 24,936.70 BONUS points were awarded to their Pika Cards.

“The continuous growth, from one season to the next, in both the number of PET bottles collected and the number of participants clearly shows that an increasing number of citizens are actively involved in collecting waste for recycling. For us, this is a clear indication that investment in environmental responsibility and sustainability projects is justified and effective. It is particularly encouraging to see that understanding of the importance of recycling and the role each of us plays in protecting the environment is growing year after year. We would like to thank all our project partners who, each within their respective area of expertise, contributed to the improved results achieved this year. Special thanks go to the citizens who participated and demonstrated that, through joint action, we can make significant progress towards a more sustainable future. Every bottle collected represents an important step towards closing the loop of packaging collection, processing, and reuse,” said Igor Zgrabljić, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at Coca-Cola HBC Adria.

Citizens who brought PET packaging to selected retail stores across the country had the opportunity to earn BONUS points on their Pika Cards, allowing the project once again to successfully combine environmentally responsible behaviour with tangible benefits for participants.

“The results achieved together with our customers confirm that responsible packaging waste management is becoming part of the everyday habits of an increasing number of citizens. Through their engagement, our customers have shown that small changes in daily behaviour can bring significant benefits to both the community and the environment. We are proud that, through our partnership with Coca-Cola HBC B-H, we continue to develop a culture of responsible resource use and support projects that contribute to sustainable development,” said Adisa Zimić, Head of Marketing at Konzum.

This year’s edition of the project was also joined by the EU-funded CETAP project, “Technical Assistance for Improved Recovery of Materials from Waste through Separate Collection, Reuse and Recycling Based on Circular Economy Principles.” The project aims to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in aligning its waste management practices with the European Green Deal and circular economy principles.

Based on the results achieved through its various editions over the past five years, the project confirms that awareness of the importance of recycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to grow and that an increasing number of citizens understand the value of the circular economy and the processes of separate waste collection and disposal.

A particular value of the project lies in the fact that all collected PET packaging was taken over and managed in accordance with the highest recycling standards, thanks to the partners Ekopak and Eurobeta, ensuring its return to the production cycle and giving it a new purpose.
