At the ceremonial session of the Municipal Council, held on the occasion of marking 30 years since the Liberation Day and the Day of Ključ Municipality, an award was presented to Ekopak’s Director, Amela Hrbat.

This recognition confirms the long-standing successful cooperation between Ekopak, the Public Utility Company “Rad” Ključ, and the Municipality of Ključ, through which a system for the selective disposal of packaging waste and its preparation for recycling has been established and developed.

More than a Decade of Cooperation
The cooperation between Ekopak, PUC “Rad” Ključ, and the Municipality of Ključ has been ongoing since 2014, when the foundations were laid for developing a packaging waste management system in this local community. Over the years, significant financial resources have been secured, the necessary infrastructure has been built, and continuous support has been provided for the collection, sorting, and preparation of packaging waste for recycling. As a result, the amount of municipal waste ending up at the local landfill has been significantly reduced.

Award Ceremony and Important Projects
The ceremony, attended by numerous guests, war veterans, and delegations from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, was also an opportunity for the Mayor of Ključ, Jasmin Musić, to highlight the importance of various projects being implemented in Ključ, including the opening of a recycling yard. By awarding recognition to Ekopak, received by Director Amela Hrbat, the role of the partnership with PUC “Rad” Ključ in raising environmental awareness and building a sustainable waste management system was emphasized.

Gratitude and Continuation of Cooperation
Ekopak Director, Amela Hrbat, expressed her gratitude for the award, emphasizing that it belongs to everyone who has worked diligently to establish an efficient recycling system in Ključ.
“Our partnership with PUC Rad Ključ has lasted for more than a decade, and we are proud of the results we have achieved together. This recognition is an additional motivation to continue working on projects that reduce municipal waste, increase the recycling rate, and contribute to the development of the local community,” Hrbat said.
