Earth Day celebrated in Konjic – Ekopak awarded the best schools and kindergartens
On the occasion of Earth Day, Ekopak and the Public utility company Standard Konjic organized special activities to reward the best educational institutions that properly separated packaging waste throughout the past year.
Amela Hrbat, Director of Ekopak, and Samir Memić, Director of PUC Standard Konjic, visited elementary schools and kindergartens in Konjic where containers for separate collection of packaging waste had been placed the previous year.
Based on the quantities of packaging waste recorded by employees of JKP Standard Konjic over the year, the most successful institutions were announced:
🥇 1st place – Public Institution "First Primary School" Konjic
🥈 2nd place – Public Institution "Second Primary School" Konjic
🥉 3rd place – Public Kindergarten "Zulejha Begeta" Konjic
Ekopak awarded symbolic monetary prizes to the top-performing institutions as a token of appreciation for their contribution to the development of the recycling system and as motivation to continue their efforts.
The event was also attended by Elma Babić-Džihanić, Executive Director of Zeos eco-system, who on this occasion presented a gift on behalf of ZEOS to the Happy Kids kindergarten.
📍 Prior to the school visits, Director Hrbat, Mr. Memić, and Ms. Babić-Džihanić held a meeting with the Mayor of Konjic, Mr. Osman Ćatić. They discussed plans to establish a recycling yard in Konjic – a joint project of the City of Konjic, Ekopak, Zeos, and PUC Standard Konjic.
Ekopak expresses its gratitude to everyone involved in these activities and proudly continues its mission of developing packaging waste recycling infrastructure throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
