Representatives of the Cantonal Public Utility Company RAD from Sarajevo, General Manager Vera Arnautovic, Executive Director of the Public Hygiene sector Fahrudin Tinjak and Head of Technical Preparation for Public Hygiene sector Maida Cukojevic visited Ekopak where they held a meeting with Ekopak Managing Director Amel Hrbat.

At the meeting, they discussed the current cooperation and the possibilities of improving the business of these two companies. A special segment of the conversation referred to the project "Recycling of glass packaging in the countries of the Western Balkans". Namely, the Municipality of Ilidža is one of the four pilot local communities in which the project is implemented and KJKP Rad is one of the four BiH utility companies involved in this project.

We remind you that the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the National Alliance for Local Economic Development "Naled" from Serbia in cooperation with Ekopak, the first operator of packaging waste management systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sekopak system operators from Serbia and Pakomak from Northern Macedoni as well as the Association for Economic Development REDAH and the Association of Local Self-Government Units ZELS, launched a regional project "Management of glass packaging in the Western Balkans", which will be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the City of Bihac and the municipalities of Novi Travnik, Konjic and Ilidža. The goal is to increase the recycling rate of glass packaging in these municipalities by 20%.
