Ekopak is one step to the accession to the Pan-European organization „Pro Europe“ and being licensed to use the “Green Dot” trademark in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Managing director of  „Pro Europe“ organization, the umbrella organization of recycling and packaging waste management systems with headquarters in Brussels, is visiting Ekopak today in Sarajevo.

Ekopak has prepared application for the license to the right to use the „Green Dot“ trademark and it is one step closer to become authorized company for using the symbol on products from BiH which will make our country closer to the rest of the Europe, in this aspect. Ekopak, with its membership, will also be able to grant its clients the use of the „Green Dot“ trademark on their products. The symbol of the „Green Dot“ on every single piece of packaging means that the packaging is included in the system that is that its collecting and recycling has been paid for, which is an important information for the consumes as well.

During the visit, Ekopak presented the previous activities and future plan, as well as the significance of the membership in the organization for the company, its clients and the general public.

On this occasion, Amela Hrbat, the general director of Ekopak said: „Ekopak has fulfilled the strict membership criteria of the Pro Europe organization, we have sent the application to Brussels, and Mrs. Denison, today, has the opportunity to be introduced in more detail to the activities and plans of Ekopak up to this day and in the future. In the general atmosphere in our country and the conditions in which BH economy operates, it is very delightful to have a Pan European organization recognize the activities of Ekopak and characterize them in accordance with the European principles and valuesand Ekopak will soon become 32nd member, ie, that Bosnia and Herzegovina will become 32nd country in this big system...“

The managing director of Pro Europe, Ursula Denison, did not hide her pleasure to have BiH become a part of the organization. "Today, we had a very constructive meeting. I am very impressed by the progress achieved in such a short time frame and under a lot of challenging conditions. I am looking forward to strenghtening our cooperation in the future and welcoming Ekopak to "Green Dot" systems." 

A part of the meeting, on behalf of the Federal Minister, Branka Đurić, attended her Adviser Josip Dolušić  who expressed his pleasure to meet Mrs. Denison and the fact that Ekopak is soon to join the "Green Dot" systems. He stressed out that the Ministry will support the implementation of the Ordinance and establishment of the separate packaging waste system collection and recycling.
