For the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina is implemented the International program "Young Eco Reporters", whose organizers are leading info platform for young "hocu.ba", incubator of social innovation "Munja" and Ekopak.

The aim of this program which is implemented in more than 30 countries is to engage young people from 14-18 years old to explore environmental questions and issues and report them through written, photographic or video record, and whenever possible to propose solutions. The program develops the skills and knowledge of young people, providing them a deeper understanding of sustainable development and environmental protection, it strengthens their communication and civic skills, personal initiative, teamwork, critical analysis, social responsibility and leadership skills.

In the preliminary activities were held workshops in high schools in Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Travnik and Bihac, which were attended by professors and students who are educated on how to participate in the program, after which is opened the official call for participation with detailed instructions on Ekopak's and info platform "hocu.ba" webpages.

The students from 42 high schools from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed the great interest for program and have sent artworks in deadline, which proved their awareness of environmental problems. Students sent artworks in some of the three categories: article, photography or photo-reportage, short video.

The expert jury that selected the winners is:

• Selma Milovanovic (Al Jazeera Balkans),

• Sanela Habes (BH radio 1),

• Ena Brankovic (Federal TV),

• EKOPAKs representative.

First place in each category receives tablets + paid study visit in one of the EU countries.

Second place in each category receives a paid study visit in one of the EU countries.

From the third to fifth places in each category, contestants will receive a special package MER.

The winners in VIDEO category are:

These 15 contestants will be invited to award ceremony in Sarajevo, 06.06.2017. The best artworks will be promoted in next days on Ekopaks web and Facebook page and info platform "hocu.ba".
