Sarajevo, 13.12.2016. - There was held the first out of five promotional workshops of new educational program "Young Eco Reporters" in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The workshop was attended by 30 young representatives of different high schools from Sarajevo Canton. The coordinator of the program is NGO Munja Inkubator through the info platform Hocu.ba, in partnership with Ekopak.

The program Young Eco Reporters engages young people from 15 to 21 age, who will explore the questions and problems about environmental protection, through reporting by photo or video record together with ideas and proposals for solutions. The program develops the skills and knowledge of participants. It gives them a deeper understanding of sustainable development and environmental protection, strengthens communication and civic skills, personal initiative, teamwork, critical analysis, social responsibility and leadership skills. 

The official call for action, according to the international format of the "Young Eco Reporters", will be open in early 2017. After an open call, young's will have two months to prepare their works which will be in one of three categories:

1. ARTICLE (max. 1000 words)

2. PHOTO / PHOTO ESSAY

3. SHORT VIDEO (up to 3 minutes)

The best works will be awarded and will have the opportunity to participate in the international competition. Also, the works will be published in the leading info platform Hocu.ba which was visited by more than 300,000 people in this year. Soon there will be available more information about the competition, together with the manual and guide for the preparation of works. The following promotional workshops will be held in Mostar, Tuzla, Bihac and Travnik.
