In this Letter Ministry is asking from all retailers in FBiH to, as soon as possible, submit  the proof that they have meet their obligations for the years 2012 and 2013. Only two institutions in charge for that are Ekopak and Fund for Environmental Protection of FBiH.

Retailers, according to Ordinance, have a specific role because they sell products in packaging from many producers, importers, distributors and suppliers. In this Letter Ministry is asking from all retailers in FBiH to, as soon as possible, submit  the proof that they have meet their obligations for the years 2012 and 2013 via Ekopak or via Fund for Environmental Protection of FBiH, meaning that they have included their own products and the products that they import, in the system. For other products that they sell they are obligated to get the same proof from producers, importers and distributors of these products. Otherwise the retailers are responsible to include these products in the system, and to meet their obligations  for them.

The reason for this Letter is a fact that many producers, importers, distributors and retailers are still not meeting their obligations given by Ordinance on packaging and packaging waste management (official Gazette of FBiH no 88/11 and official Gazette of FBiH no 28/13). It is important to make a difference between socially responsible companies that meet their legal obligations from these who are avoiding it, even though they’re just accumulating it.

Ekopak envites all producers, importers, distributors and retailers to enter in Ekopak’s system, to meet their obligations at the lowest sustainable costs, and by that strengthen this system that is built by packaging industry which is included in platform of Ekopak by european standards.
