The handover of containers in the Municipality of Ustikolina

The municipality of Foca - Ustikolina in the Federation, 18.02.2016. - Today, in front of the PUC "Usce" Ustikolina was handover of 12 containers for separate collection of packaging waste, on the basis of previously signed agreement on cooperation between the Municipality of Foca - Ustikolina in the Federation, the PUC "Usce" and Ekopak. Green Dot certificate was handed to Municipality.

With the contract is planned also landscaping surfaces on which will be located 4 eco-island. The citizens of these municipalities will in these locations separately dispose a packaging waste generated after the daily consumption of the product and the amount of waste that is collected will PUC "Usce" prepare and transport to the process of further utilization and recycling. In this way the collected packaging waste will not end up in the landfill but in the process of further processing.

The handover was attended by Assistant Chief Nihad Hadziahmetovic, Acting Director of the PUC "Usce" Admir Borovic, and Assistant Director for relations with the local community of Ekopak, Hasan Ahmetspahic. The participants pointed out the importance of establishing a Green Dot system  which  Ekopak successfully builds in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that brings the benefit of citizens, local communities and the packaging industry. Municipality Ustikolina is among 17 municipalities in which the activities of collecting packaging waste and its preparation for recycling are successfully implemented, because Ekopak is pioneer in our country and implement best practices and experiences of European countries with which it is connected through membership in PRO EUROPE and EXPRA.
