Sarajevo, 13 October 2026 - Ekopak held an educational workshop for young children at Sveta Obitelj Kindergarten in Sarajevo, with the aim of introducing them to the basics of separating and properly disposing of packaging waste from an early age.

During the workshop, children learned about different types of packaging waste and how to dispose of them properly through content adapted to their age. Particular attention was given to helping children understand, even at preschool age, that paper and cardboard, plastic packaging and beverage cans, as well as glass packaging, should be separated and placed in the designated bins.

The educational programme was complemented by animated content, practical examples, and materials jointly developed by Ekopak and CETAP to teach children about packaging waste recycling. This approach introduced children to basic concepts and proper habits in a simple and age-appropriate way.

The workshop also included creative and interactive activities, while all participants received educational picture books and certificates at the end of the programme.

Educating children from an early age is an important part of Ekopak’s activities, as proper packaging waste separation habits are most easily developed when learning begins early. In this way, children gradually become familiar with their own role in the separate collection and recycling system for packaging waste.
