Ekopak Director Amela Hrbat Awarded the Plaque of the City of Bihać
At the ceremonial session of the City Council held on the occasion of the City of Bihać Day, and upon the proposal of the Public Utility Company Komrad Bihać, the Director of Ekopak, Amela Hrbat, was awarded the Plaque of the City of Bihać.
This significant recognition was presented for her continuous contribution to the development of the packaging waste management system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the advancement of environmental protection, and her strong support for the development of selective waste collection in the City of Bihać.
Through its partnership with the Public Utility Company Komrad, Ekopak has made a tangible contribution to improving the selective waste collection system, developing infrastructure for the separation of packaging waste, and raising awareness of the importance of responsible waste management.
We are honoured that the City Council of Bihać has recognised the importance of this long-standing partnership and the joint efforts aimed at building an efficient and sustainable packaging waste recycling system.
On this occasion, Ekopak Director Amela Hrbat expressed her gratitude to the Public Utility Company Komrad and the City of Bihać for the trust and recognition shown, emphasising that Ekopak will continue to provide strong support to Komrad—one of the 15 public utility companies it cooperates with—which, based on the quantities of packaging waste collected to date, ranks as the most successful company within the system.
Ekopak and PUC Komrad have been cooperating since 2013, and their partnership represents a model of good practice in collaboration between a system operator and a municipal utility company, demonstrating how an efficient system for the collection and recycling of packaging waste can be established, developed, and continuously improved within a local community.
