Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, Introduces Waste Sorting
As part of the “Green Libraries” initiative, the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo has taken an important step toward improving sustainable practices within the academic environment.
Separate collection bins for paper and plastic have been placed in front of the library’s reading room, enabling students and staff to easily and properly dispose of packaging waste.
This move is part of a broader effort to encourage university institutions to adopt responsible waste-management practices and to strengthen awareness of the role that recycling plays in environmental protection. In an environment where large quantities of paper and plastic packaging are generated daily, proper waste separation becomes an essential part of the culture of learning and work.
Ekopak, the first authorized operator of the packaging-waste management system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continually supports such initiatives through educational activities, advisory assistance and the provision of infrastructure for separate collection of packaging waste. Establishing responsible practices within educational institutions is one of the key steps toward a long-term sustainable society.
