NEWSLETTER FOR 4th QUARTER OF 2023.

We hope that 2024 has started well for you, in good health and spirits.

We are pleased to inform you that the past year was very successful for Ekopak. Despite numerous challenges, we have met all our business objectives, expanded our client, partner, and associate network. The trust you have placed in us and our dedicated work has enabled us to achieve our goals this year and to further improve the recycling system development.

In the last quarter of 2023, we continued to expand our system by investment in the infrastructure for collectors within our system and implementing various informational and educational events.

Through the Association of System Operators of FBiH, of which we are an active member, we participated in organizing an important workshop on achievements in recycling packaging, electrical, and electronic waste in the Federation of BiH, which was attended by key subjects of the implementation of the Packaging Waste Ordinance: inspectors of the Federal Inspection Administration, the Fund for Environmental Protection, and the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and we are particularly pleased that the minister, Ms. Nasiha Pozder, participated.

We supported the International Conference "Building a Sustainable BiH," collected packaging waste at the Diplomatic Bazaar, and participated in the "Waste as a Resource" conference.

We have implemented initiatives such as providing 50 bins for glass packaging waste for HORECA in Ključ Municipality, waste bin sets for the two largest hotels in the Municipality of Ilidža. We participated in modernizing the vehicle fleet for the transport of packaging waste of the Public Utility Companies Rad Ključ and KEMEKO Lukavac.

After the first year of operation of the recycling yard in Paromlinska Street in Sarajevo, which we started in cooperation with the Public Utility Company Rad Sarajevo and the system operator Zeos, we summarized the results on the amounts of collected packaging, electronic and electrical waste, tires, bulky and construction waste.

We have provided 70 new sorting sets for Urijan Dedina Street in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Soukbunar, and sets of containers for the selective disposal of paper and plastic for the HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We supported the "HELPing Hands" initiative for sustainable development in BiH by providing them with sets of bins for the separation of packaging waste.

The end of the year was marked by signing a contract with the Public Utility Company Bioštica Olovo for the procurement of a vehicle for the transport of packaging waste, and by socializing with our youngest fellow citizens at a joyful gathering of children organized by the Public Utility Company Rad Sarajevo at the Youth Home, where our mascot Zekopak entertained many children through games and dance.

We started 2024 by preparing the annual report for 2023, in which we will present all our achievements, and with ambitions and plans to continue working on the development of the packaging waste recycling system in the Federation of BiH.

Until the next Ekopak newsletter, we warmly greet you.

Amela Hrbat, CEO Ekopak
