NEWSLETTER FOR 3rd QUARTER OF 2023.

The past quarter has been filled with dynamic business activities. These activities have enriched our mission and contributed to the achievement of our business goals. This period was notably marked by our active role in the largest film event in the region: the Sarajevo Film Festival. Once again, this year, we proudly supported Coca-Cola in packaging waste collection during this prestigious festival, within the project "Recycle Me. Give Me a New Life. Our partner was KJKP Rad Sarajevo, and we archived another success in packaging waste collection: during the eight days of Sarajevo Film Festival, we collected 19,370 kg of packaging waste, which will be recycled instead of ending up in the Smiljevići landfill.

In addition, during this quarter, we organized an important meeting with 14 public utility companies from the Ekopak system, held in Municipality of Ključ. This meeting was organized in cooperation of Ekopak and JKP Rad Ključ. Key topics related to the collection and preparation for recycling post-consumer packaging waste. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the experiences and achievements of public utility companies within the Ekopak system in the last ten years, from 2013 to 2022. We also discussed best practices in collecting packaging waste from municipal solid waste.

We are proud to highlight that JKP "RAD" d.o.o. from Ključ delivered significant quantities of glass and various types of plastic packaging waste to us. We have also continued our successful collaboration with JKP Komrad by signing a co-financing agreement for the purchase of vehicles for transporting collected packaging waste. Furthermore, in collaboration with KJKP Rad Sarajevo, we are making progress in collecting and recycling glass packaging waste in the Ilidža Municipality. We also participated in the prestigious entrepreneurship and craft fair GRAPOS EXPO 2023 in Gračanica in partnership with JKP Komus d.o.o.

Finally, we would like to highlight the visit of Italian journalist Giorgio Kaldor, with whom we discussed the inclusion of the informal sector in the packaging waste collection process. Kaldor is a respected journalist working for the renowned international magazine Renewable Matter, dedicated to the circular economy, and is a member of the Water Grabbing Observatory in Bologna. His articles will provide global support to our efforts in developing a circular economy.

You can read more about each of the mentioned activities below.

Ekopak is already in full swing in implementing planned activities for the last quarter of this year.
Until our next Newsletter, in which we will inform you about these activities, we warmly greet you and wish you pleasant and beautiful early autumn days.
