At Ekopak headquarters a significant step towards further improvement of the packaging waste recycling system in Bosnia and Herzegovina was marked today. Director of PUC Komrad Bihać Mehura Selimović and director of Ekopak Amela Hrbat signed new agreement on purchase co-financing of vehicles intended for the transportation of collected packaging waste.

Cooperation between PUC Komrad Bihać and Ekopak dates back to 2013 when the first contract was signed, which laid the foundations for a successful partnership aimed at sustainable waste management in Bihać. PUC Komrad Bihać proudly stands out as the first public utility company to join Ekopak.

In the past ten years, PUC Komrad Bihać and Ekopak worked together to establish and develop a system for separating packaging waste from municipal waste and this cooperation led to significant results. However, there are still potentials and the goal to increase amount of packaging waste that would otherwise end up in the local city landfill instead direct it towards recycling processes and contributing to a more sustainable future for community.

United in their goal to contribute to a better future, PUC Komrad Bihać and Ekopak are committed to closer cooperation and further development of systems that will enable optimal collection, recycling and utilization of packaging waste. This collaboration not only strengthens responsibility towards waste, but also sets standards for other institutions and businesses to follow suit.
