NEWSLETTER FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2023.

The first quarter was marked by the preparation and delivery of the Annual Report for Packaging Waste Management 2022. So, in accordance with Article 21 of the Ordinance on packaging waste management this report was submitted at the end of march to Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Environmental Protection Fund FBiH.

In our system, there are about 900 manufacturers, importers, distributors and final suppliers/traders who have given their trust and transferred their legal obligations to us. We are pleased to inform you that we sent more than 15,000 tons of packaging waste for recycling and met our annual goal.

For the first quarter of 2023 events, we single out the first underground eco-island in Bihać opening ceremony. Realization of this project is extremely important for the city and it is a result of long-term, successful cooperation between PUC Komrad and Ekopak.

Then, there is a visit to Ekopak by the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton, Enver Hadžiahmetović who we introduced to our business and projects. Minister Hadžiahmetović expressed great interest in our work gave his support to further development of system that Ekopak has been successfully establishing in cooperation with partners for ten years.

We are also pleased to inform you that he first amount of glass packaging waste from Tomislavgrad has been sent for recycling. We point out that Tomislavgrad entered Ekopak's system at the end of last year and they have already managed to collect the first amounts of packaging waste.

Also, municipality Ključ provided us with a significant amount of collected postconsumer packaging waste. Last year, Ekopak co-financed the purchase of a special vehicle for the collection of packaging waste and they have already recorded good results. We also started a new cooperation with PUC "Vodograd" Prozor-Rama.

Ekopak continued with educational projects for children. At the Sarajevo Kids Kinđurijada, we choose upcycling as the main theme. Children made masks and costumes from packaging materials at the creative workshop.

We also launched Ekopak TV in order to better inform the public about our activities and novelties. So, we will regularly publish important information, reports and contributions related to our business as well as current events from the world of recycling.

Until the new Bulletin, we send you our regards and wish you nice first days of spring,

Your Ekopak
