The responsibility of the individuals towards the environment is expressed primarily through the care of used packaging products we buy every day. That is why it is important to check, before buying, whether the product is marked with the "Green Dot" sign.

At the "Green Dots" promotions organized throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, citizens had the opportunity to find out what a "Green Dot" is and why customers should pay attention to whether products  have Green dot sign on their packaging. The organizer of the promotion is the exclusive provider of the right to use this international mark in our country - Ekopak.

Ekopak in Konzum stores Mostar, Čitluk, Zenica, Banja Luka and Sarajevo provided a series of promotions where customers could be educated about the importance and significance of this sign, which communicates the social responsibility of companies using it in the segment of packaging waste recycling and environmental protection in general.

Customers received interesting gifts provided by companies that mark the packaging of their products with the "Green Dot": Orbico, Molson Coors, Mepas and Bernina.

"Ekopak has been a member of the reputable umbrella organization PRO Europe since 2013, based in Brussels. Pro Europe provides the Green Dot sign rights, which is the most widely used international trademark in the world and is protected in more than 170 countries. As a member of Pro Europe, Ekopak had the honor of being the exclusive grantor of the right to use the "Green Dot" in our country. One of our obligations is to inform and educate the public about the importance of this sign for all consumers ", said the managing director of Ekopak, Amela Hrbat and added that the reactions of customers are always very positive and that the public is increasingly interested in the recycling process in BiH.

"Ekopak regularly plans Green Dot promotions in its annual business plans, but due to the pandemic we were limited in conducting mass promotions and we are now very happy to be able to spend timet with consumers across BiH and exchange information and knowledge," she said.

As a reminder, the owner of the "Green Dot" sign is the German company Duales System Deutschland AG. (D.S.D.), which left the management and coordination of the use of this sign outside the German market to the umbrella European organization Pro Europe, based in Brussels. Pro Europe grants the Green Dot mark rights to its members around the world and since 2013 Ekopak has been a member of Pro Europe and the exclusive provider of the right to use the Green Dot on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
