NEWSLETTER FOR 2nd QUARTER OF 2022.

Our calendar for this period was full of planned projects that we successfully implemented. The very fact that in the last three months we have implemented more than 20 events, educations and workshops, and placed 22 press releases and published about a hundred posts on our social networks, shows how rich the second quarter was in projects.

We took part in the spring cleaning campaign in Sarajevo Canton, organized by the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Municipal Economy, with KJKP Rad, JKP Park, Ekopak and Zeos. The action lasted for almost two months, and on that occasion we organized cleaning actions in all KS municipalities, as well as educating children in the schools of these municipalities about the importance of recycling.

Along with this action, we also implemented the project "Ekopak Caravan Month", which takes place as part of marking 10 years of successful work of Ekopak. So we visited schools and kindergartens in the municipalities of Ilidža, Gračanica, Tomislavgrad, Ključ and Posušje and taught children about the importance of recycling and how to make useful things from packaging material. The children were delighted with this action, and even sent us their drawings and works on their own initiative, which we published on our social networks.

On the occasion of celebrating World Environment Day on June 5, we organized entertaining and educational workshops for children in Pionirska dolina in Sarajevo. Ekopak handed over three sets of containers for separate disposal of waste to JKP Park, which manages the Pionirska dolina, one of which was installed at this location.

Together with JKP Vilenica Čistoća from Novi Travnik, we organized a sports-educational entertainment program related to recycling for the children of Novi Travnik.

In cooperation with the organization Save the Children, we implemented the project "Schools as green zones - increasing readiness for climate change in the education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina", and with Coca-Cola we successfully implemented a large-scale cleaning campaign in BiH called "From the source to the sea" .”

Ekopak continued to invest in the development of infrastructure for the collection of packaging waste. Thus, we procured and delivered 20 containers for sorting packaging waste to Tomislavgrad, while we signed an agreement with JKP Vilenica Čistoća from Novi Travnik on co-financing the purchase of vehicles for transporting packaging waste.

Speaking of our business partners, Ekopak organized a meeting with 13 public utility companies that are part of the Ekopak system, and after that we also met with private companies that deal with the collection of packaging waste. On that occasion, we talked about the achieved results and plans for the next period.

And finally, another good news. Namely, Ekopak received another great recognition for its work, the award "BH Green Awards - champions of nature protection 2022" in the category "business entities/companies".

In Ekopak, even during the summer, there is a very working atmosphere. In addition to the regular duties of collecting and recycling packaging waste, we are working on the preparation of new projects, the implementation of which will follow in the second part of the year.

Until the next Newsletter, we warmly greet you and wish you a pleasant summer!

Yours faithfully,
 Ekopak
