NEWSLETTER FOR THE 3rd QUARTER OF 2021.

We continue with implementation of the regional project "Management of glass packaging in the Western Balkans", which Ekopak implements in cooperation with the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), the National Alliance for Local Economic Development "Naled" from Serbia and system operators "Sekopak" from Serbia and "Pakomak” from Northern Macedonia. In this regard, we handed over 50 special containers for collecting glass packaging to the Municipality Ilidža. On that occasion we organized an official handover which was attended by representatives of the Municipality Ilidža and Ekopak, Michaela Passlick Head of the Department for Cooperation with the German Embassy in BiH, Peter Wolf GIZ manager in BiH, Vera Arnautović acting Director of Public Utility Company "RAD" and Ivica Svirić from the Association for Economic Development REDAH. This event also attracted a lot of media attention, informing the public and inviting citizens to join the action.

Our work was recognized by the prestigious American organization AmCham Europe. Ekopak has been a member of AmCham BiH for many years and actively participates in the work of the "Health care & Environment" committee which provides significant support in overcoming the challenges that Ekopak faces every day. Ekopak mission was recognized and presented within AmCham Europe in the segment of good examples and practices of social responsibility and among the hundreds of submitted works by AmCham members across Europe and selected in the final round.

During Sarajevo Film Festival we participated in a Coca-Cola project called “Recycle Me. Give me a new life." and were extremely honored to be part of this project and to support the initiative of one of our founders, Coca-Cola HBC BH. Ekopak, in cooperation with colleagues from Public Utility Company "RAD" was in charge of collecting and transporting the collected packaging waste for recycling. The results were extraordinary: 12 tons of waste were collected and even 9 tons of packaging waste was sent for recycling.

Ekopak continued with promotion of Green Dot and informed citizens what this sign means and why they should buy products marked with a Green Dot sign. We also presented our partners, companies that have been using the Green Dot sign for many years and which have confirmed their commitment to the development of recycling systems and environmental protection in general in BiH with Green Dot certificates for 2020. We are glad that an increasing number of domestic companies recognize the importance of marking the packaging of their products with the internationally recognized Green Dot sign.

Our projects and activities will continue, you will read about them in future issues of our newsletter. We wish you pleasant moments in reading this newsletter.
Until then, we send you our regards.
