NEWSLETTER FOR 2nd QUARTER OF 2020.

Although in difficult working conditions due to present corona virus pandemic, Ekopak successfully continued with its work and realization of the set goals.

The second quarter was marked by the submission of the "Annual Report on Packaging Waste Management for 2019", which is submitted every year to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of BiH. This year also we can boast with achieved results because the planned goals for recycling and recovery of packaging waste were exceeded by 102%.

We continued our support to partners in local communities and took part in activity by Public Waste Management Utility Company "Vilenica-Čistoća" from Novi Travnik to carry out public action for glass packaging waste collection and recycling in their municipality. On 24 locations, during one month, two tons of glass packaging waste was collected and sent for recycling. 

As part of the World Environment Day celebration, Ekopak in cooperation with the Public Waste Management Utility Company "Komus" from Gračanica cleaned the green area in Mehmeda Ahmedbegovića street and planted a tree line to create an alley.

Since the beginning of the year, we have been participating in the project "Let's protect the environment together - let's learn, act and initiate changes in the Municipality of Centar" implemented by the "Center for Environmentally Sustainable Development" - COOR. The green areas in local community were cleaned and flowers planted on location of square Trg Oslobođenja. We talked with citizens about the importance of recycling packaging waste and gave them Ekopak promotional materials.

We are currently working on preparation of significant local and regional projects aimed at improving our present recycling system. They will be presented to you in our next newsletter.
