NEWSLETTER FOR 1st HALF OF 2018

The beginning of this year was marked by the preparation of the Annual Report on the Packaging Waste Management, which we submitted to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of B&H, in which we proved the fulfillment of recycling and recovery targets for the sixth consecutive year in all of prescribed categories, on behalf of all our clients who gave us confidence and transferred the responsibility for fulfilling the recycling goals to Ekopak.

At the beginning of the year, the Government of the Federation of B&H made a decision to appoint new members of the Coordination Body for monitoring the implementation of the Ordinance on Packaging Waste Management. It is expected that in future this body will work more efficiently than before and that will cope with real problems of implementation of the Ordinance on Packaging Waste Management in the Federation of B&H, with the aim of further development of the System for packaging waste management.

Implementation of projects in municipalities which have signed cooperation contract with Ekopak, has been continued through various educational-promotional activities, and the highlights are:
- In the Municipality of Novi Travnik, over 1,160 pupils from all primary schools from Municipality participated in the project, and special interactive workshops for kindergartens were held.
- In the Municipality of Vogosca the competition among primary schools was organised and schools competed in the quantities of collected packaging waste.

The international project "Young Eco Reporters", which was implemented in cooperation between Ekopak and Incubator Munja, was successfully implemented for the second time, and this year included 39 secondary schools from 24 cities from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon completion of the project, winners were announced and awards are given to the 15 most successful young eco reporters.

Celebration of significant eco-dates, promotion of the recycling of packaging waste through various events, and support in the organization of recycling workshops, are other activities that have marked the past period and you can see detailed overview below.
