Holdina, Kemis and Ekopak had a meeting today with the main topic of establishing system of collecting packaging waste containing or contaminated with hazardous substance.

Today in the Ekopak office, a meeting among the representatives of Holdina, Kemis and Ekopak was held. At this occasion, it has been arranged that all of the 106 petrol stations in property of Holdina, i.e. INA and Energopetrol, place specialized containers where motor oil packaging waste can be disposed, which is to be collected and transported to incinerator in Germany and Austria by Kemis.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Berislav Dragić and Mr. Namik Bureković on behalf of Holdina, Mr. Nihad Mešić on behalf of Energopetrol and Mr. Maid Hadžimujić on behalf of Kemis, whereas Ekopak representatives were Amela Hrbat, and Mr. Zoran Rifelj.

Ordinance Amending Ordinance on Package and Packaging Waste Management (Official Gazette FBiH 28, April 10, 2013) defines requirements of recycling or reusing of the packaging waste containing or being contaminated with hazardous substance. By signing the contract, Holdina was one of the first companies to join the packaging waste of this type management system, thus fulfilling their obligations by law and showing social responsibility.

Holdina is just the first obligated company to join the packaging waste containing or being contaminated with the hazardous substance management system and, by having other legal entities that operate within this or similar business join the system, the expectations are to significantly improve packaging waste containing or being contaminated with the hazardous substance management in order not to have such waste end up on landfills but be reused and recycled.
