On the urgently called 26th Conference of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina held on June 3rd 2013, the Decision and Resolution on naming the Coordination Council for Monitoring of the Implementation of the Ordinance on Packaging and Packaging Waste were adopted.

On behalf of each of the relevant institutions working on implementing the Ordinance, a one representative was appointed a member of the Coordination Council.

The main objective of this council is the exchange of relevant information and coordinating activities related to the implementation of the Ordinance on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management (Official Journal of the FBiH no. 88/11, 28/13, 45/13). Members of the Coordinating Council are:

  1. Safet Harbinja, general director of the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of BiH, Chairman, 
  2. Dragica Filipović Ćurak, general environmental inspector of the Federal Inspection Management Office, Member, 
  3. Amela Hrbat, general director of Ekopak Sarajevo, authorized operator of the packaging waste system, Member, 
  4.  Mehmed Cero, deputy of the Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, Member,

Activities of the Coordination Council are especially focused on monitoring intermittent and annual reports among the competent institutions as well as monitoring yearly plan of consumption of the dedicated funds of the Environmental Protection Fund.  A special emphasis will be on to establishment of the unitary database of the subjects in legal obligation towards the system and their involvement into the system and their amount of the packaging waste.

Coordination Council will  through Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism report to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina report about the executed activities dealing with the implementation of the Ordinance.

The Decision and Resolution were published on June 12th 2013 in „Official Journal of the FBiH“ issue no. 45/13, and it was entered into force on June 13th, 2013.
