Sarajevo, 13.4.2015. – TV broadcast from journalist of Al Jazeera, Sanel Kajan, was selected as the best journalistic work in the field of information and promotion of establishing the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste in B&H.

"B&H in the European System for Recycling" is the title of the winning contribution that tells about the position of B&H in the Green Dot System which is in B&H introduced through Ekopak - B&H system operator. Broadcast also tells about the need for proper disposal of packaging waste, great opportunities for development of new industries, jobs and financial gain for the country in the field of recycling.

The companies, which have a legal obligation to manage their packaging waste should be included in the Ekopak system, to mark their packaging with The Green Dot and that consumers buy products with this symbol – is the basic message of this contribution, because only then Bosnia and Herzegovina can make a step in successful establishment of the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste. Finally, with the development of infrastructure for recycling and alignment of entity regulations by the government, B&H could also generate significant financial returns, concludes Sanel Kajan.

Ekopak expressed satisfaction that the journalist from Al Jazeera, whose codes and standards of informing are very well known, is interested in the topic of packaging waste. Sanel Kajan, in his broadcast, in a simple manner presented the basic features of the system, but also high standards of Ekopaks business, which is representative of our country in Europe in the field of packaging waste.

As a reward, the author won a study trip to one European country, member of PRO EUROPE, in which the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste successfully operates.

For the efforts and promotion of the establishment of the Green Dot system in B&H, Ekopak decided to award an additional prize, tablet, to a journalist of Oslobođenje Alema Halebić Pendek.

In the prize competition participated author works on the topic "Establishment of a Green Dot system in BiH", which are published and registered for the Ekopaks competition in the period from 20th December 2014 to 20th March 2015.

Ekopak uses this occasion to invite journalists to follow the activities of the establishment of the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste, which Ekopak successfully implements since 2012, transferring the best European experiences and practices, which is a proof that in our country, regardless of the general situation, corruption, unfair competition and other problems, it is possible to operate transparently and to high standards.
